Service Details and Policies
Starting Service
Before service begins, Yard Dogs GI and the client(s) will agree on the specific area(s) of the property to be serviced.
Depending on the property, the agreed-upon service area(s) may include front yards, backyards, side yards, animal runs, outdoor kennel areas, driveways, patios, or other agreed-upon outdoor areas.
When service is established, Yard Dogs GI will document the agreed-upon service area(s), the number of animals normally using those area(s), the requested recurring schedule, any required access instructions, the location of the outdoor trash container, and any known hazards or special conditions that may affect service.
Client(s) should provide accurate information when service is established and notify Yard Dogs GI if any of these details later change.
Service Scope and Definition of Waste
For purposes of this policy, the term "waste" means animal fecal material, including loose stool or diarrhea, when Yard Dogs GI determines that the material can be safely and reasonably handled.
Routine animal-waste-removal service does not include urine, vomit, blood, saliva, mucus, or other bodily fluids or non-fecal material.
Routine service also does not include washing, scrubbing, disinfecting, deodorizing, neutralizing, treating, or restoring areas affected by excluded material.
Yard Dogs GI may decline to handle material that cannot reasonably be identified as fecal material or that appears hazardous or otherwise outside the scope of routine animal-waste-removal service.
Initial Visit and Baseline Cleanup
The initial visit will be priced higher than a routine recurring visit. Current initial-visit pricing is shown in the pricing table.
During the initial visit, Yard Dogs GI will review the agreed-upon service area(s) with the client, confirm access instructions, document any special conditions, and inspect the property.
Because no two properties are the same, Yard Dogs GI will provide a quotation for approval before completing the initial cleanup.
The quotation may take into account the size and condition of the service area(s), the amount of accumulated waste, access conditions, and other circumstances.
Once the quotation is approved, Yard Dogs GI will complete the baseline cleanup needed to prepare the property for routine recurring service.
Routine Recurring Service
After the initial cleanup has been completed, routine recurring service is intended to maintain the agreed-upon service area(s) in a manageable condition.
During each routine recurring visit, Yard Dogs GI will walk the agreed-upon service area(s) in a manner intended to reasonably locate and remove visible waste.
Yard Dogs GI will make a reasonable effort to locate and remove visible waste that can be safely and reasonably handled during routine service.
However, Yard Dogs GI cannot guarantee that every item will always be found and removed.
Before the visit is completed, Yard Dogs GI will perform a final walkthrough of the agreed-upon service area(s).
Before-and-after photographs of the agreed-upon service area(s) will be taken for service documentation.
Skipping, Pausing, or Canceling Service
Client(s) may request that Yard Dogs GI skip a scheduled visit, temporarily pause recurring service, or cancel recurring service.
Client(s) must notify Yard Dogs GI at least 24 hours before the next scheduled visit.
Notice may be provided by phone at (308) 384-3600 or by email at yarddogs@yarddogsgi.com.
A voicemail message may be left when a phone call is not answered.
A request is considered received when it reaches Yard Dogs GI by phone, voicemail, or email.
Text messaging is not currently available for submitting requests or account updates.
Text messaging support is planned for a future update.
A skipped visit may be appropriate when service is not needed for a single scheduled visit.
A temporary pause may be appropriate when animals will be away from the property for an extended period, such as during a vacation or temporary relocation.
When paused service resumes, routine recurring pricing will continue if the service area(s) remain in a condition similar to what would normally be expected under the client's recurring schedule.
If additional waste has accumulated during a skipped visit or temporary pause, catch-up-cleanup pricing or a quotation may apply before the additional work is completed.
If Yard Dogs GI arrives for a scheduled visit and the client denies access or requests that the visit be skipped, but Yard Dogs GI has no record of receiving the required notice, the visit will be treated as a missed visit and could be subject to a missed-visit surcharge.
Repeated missed visits or frequent cancellations may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and could result in termination of service.
A client may also cancel recurring service by providing at least 24 hours of notice before the next scheduled visit.
If a client later requests service after canceling, Yard Dogs GI may inspect the property before restarting routine recurring service.
Additional or Short-Notice Service Requests
Client(s) may request an additional visit outside the normal recurring-service schedule.
Additional visits may be appropriate when a client needs service before the next scheduled visit, has an unexpected increase in waste, is preparing for an event, or has another short-notice need.
Same-day service may be available when route capacity and remaining daylight allow.
If Yard Dogs GI cannot complete a same-day request, the visit may be scheduled for the next available daylight service time.
All animal-waste-removal work must be performed during daylight hours so the service area(s) can be safely and effectively inspected and cleaned.
Additional or short-notice visits may be priced separately from routine recurring service.
Catch-Up Cleanups After an Interruption
A skipped visit, temporary pause, weather delay, or other interruption may result in additional waste accumulating before the next completed visit.
A single skipped visit or short interruption does not automatically result in catch-up-cleanup pricing.
When service resumes, Yard Dogs GI will evaluate the condition of the agreed-upon service area(s).
If the additional accumulation can be handled within the reasonable scope of a routine recurring visit, routine recurring pricing may continue.
If the interruption causes the cleanup to require substantially more work than a routine recurring visit, catch-up-cleanup pricing or a quotation may apply before the additional work is completed.
After an extended pause, Yard Dogs GI may inspect the property before routine recurring service resumes.
When an interruption results from weather or other conditions outside the control of Yard Dogs GI and the client, any additional work or catch-up-cleanup pricing will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Yard Dogs GI will discuss any applicable catch-up-cleanup pricing or quotation with the client before completing substantial additional work.
Changes to the Agreed-Upon Service Area(s)
Client(s) may request that an area be added to or removed from the agreed-upon service area(s).
New or expanded service area(s), including additional yards, animal runs, outdoor kennel areas, driveways, patios, or other outdoor spaces, must be reviewed and approved by Yard Dogs GI before becoming part of routine recurring service.
Changes to the agreed-upon service area(s) may affect pricing, scheduling, or the amount of time required to complete each visit.
Yard Dogs GI will discuss any applicable changes with the client before adding the new or expanded area(s) to routine recurring service.
Client(s) should also notify Yard Dogs GI when an area should no longer be included in routine recurring service.
Client Responsibilities
Client(s) are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the agreed-upon service area(s).
Before each scheduled visit, client(s) should ensure that gates and access points are available and that any animal that may interfere with safe service is properly secured.
Client(s) should remove toys, hoses, tools, cords, and other items that may obstruct the service area(s) or make the work more difficult to complete safely.
Client(s) should notify Yard Dogs GI of any known hazards or unusual conditions, including holes, damaged gates, chemicals, sharp objects, or other unsafe conditions.
Grass, vegetation, and other ground cover should be kept reasonably maintained so visible waste can be located and safely removed.
Client(s) should notify Yard Dogs GI of any change that may affect access, safety, pricing, scheduling, or the amount of work required during a visit.
Animals During Service
Yard Dogs GI enjoys meeting friendly animals and does not require them to remain indoors during service when they can safely remain in the service area(s) without interfering with the work.
Client(s) must secure any animal that is aggressive, territorial, reactive, anxious, skittish, likely to escape through an open gate, or otherwise likely to interfere with safe and effective service.
Yard Dogs GI may ask that any animal be secured before or during a visit if the animal's behavior creates a safety concern or prevents the work from being completed.
If an animal is not secured when required, the visit may be treated as a missed visit and could be subject to a missed-visit surcharge.
Gates, Locks, and Property Access
Client(s) are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the agreed-upon service area(s).
Before each scheduled visit, gates and other access points should be unlocked or otherwise made reasonably available.
Client(s) must provide any access instructions, gate codes, lockbox codes, or other approved access information needed to enter the agreed-upon service area(s).
Yard Dogs GI does not routinely accept or retain physical keys.
Any exception involving a physical key must be discussed and approved in advance.
Client(s) are responsible for maintaining gates, fences, latches, locks, and other access points in reasonably safe working order and should notify Yard Dogs GI of any known issues.
Yard Dogs GI will make a reasonable effort to close gates and other access points after service.
Locked, blocked, frozen, damaged, or unsafe access points may prevent Yard Dogs GI from completing service in the affected area(s).
A visit that cannot be completed because access was not reasonably available may be treated as a missed visit and could be subject to a missed-visit surcharge.
Yard Dogs GI cannot guarantee the containment of an animal when a gate, fence, latch, lock, or other access point is defective, damaged, or not reasonably secure.
Loose Stool, Diarrhea, and Residue
Yard Dogs GI will make a reasonable effort to remove loose stool, diarrhea, and other residue that can be safely and reasonably handled during service.
Some material may soak into or remain on grass, soil, gravel, concrete, snow, patios, decks, or other surfaces and may not be completely removable.
For example, when waste is removed from a patio or deck, staining or residue may remain on the surface.
Routine animal-waste-removal service does not include washing, spraying, scrubbing, disinfecting, or restoring affected areas.
Yard Dogs GI cannot guarantee that all residue will be fully removed.
Hidden, Frozen, or Inaccessible Waste
Some waste may be difficult or impossible to locate or safely remove during a routine visit.
This may include waste hidden by tall grass, leaves, snow, standing water, debris, landscaping materials, or other obstructions.
Waste may also be frozen to the ground or otherwise not reasonably removable at the time of service.
Yard Dogs GI will make a reasonable effort to locate and remove visible waste that can be safely and reasonably handled.
Waste that cannot be located or safely removed during a visit may be addressed during a later visit after conditions improve.
If hidden, frozen, or inaccessible waste causes a later visit to require substantially more work than a routine recurring visit, catch-up-cleanup pricing or a quotation may apply before the additional work is completed.
Weather, Snow, and Route Changes
Yard Dogs GI may delay, reschedule, limit, or postpone service when weather or property conditions make the work unsafe or prevent a reasonably complete cleanup.
Examples may include lightning, severe storms, heavy rain, flooding, standing water, ice, snow cover, extreme heat, extreme cold, high winds, or other hazardous conditions.
Animal-waste-removal service may continue during winter when the agreed-upon service area(s) can be safely entered and visible waste can be reasonably located and removed.
Snow depth alone does not determine whether service can be completed. Ice, drifting, packed snow, poor visibility, and unsafe footing may affect the decision.
When practical, Yard Dogs GI will notify client(s) of a significant schedule change.
A weather-related delay may result in service being moved to the next available practical service time.
If weather or other unavoidable conditions cause a later visit to require substantially more work than a routine recurring visit, any catch-up-cleanup pricing or quotation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Mowing-Bundle Discount
An animal-waste-removal bundle discount is available when animal-waste-removal service and Yard Dogs GI lawn-mowing service are completed during the same combined service visit.
The current bundle-discount amount is shown in the pricing table.
If animal-waste-removal service is scheduled more frequently than lawn mowing, the bundle discount applies only to the animal-waste-removal visits that are completed during the same combined service visit as lawn mowing.
For example, if animal-waste-removal service is scheduled weekly and lawn mowing is scheduled every other week, only the animal-waste-removal visits completed during the same combined service visit as lawn mowing receive the bundle discount.
Separate visits made on the same date do not qualify for the bundle discount.
Changes That May Affect Pricing
Client(s) should notify Yard Dogs GI of any change that may affect the amount of work required during service.
Examples may include:
- A change in the number of animals using the service area(s).
- Visiting animals that materially increase the amount of waste.
- A larger or expanded service area.
- A newly added animal run, outdoor kennel area, patio, driveway, or other outdoor space.
- A substantial change in yard conditions.
- An extended interruption in recurring service.
Yard Dogs GI may review the property and adjust pricing when a change materially increases the time or work required to complete service.
Yard Dogs GI will discuss any applicable pricing change with the client before the adjusted pricing takes effect.
Waste Disposal
Collected waste will be bagged and placed in the client's outdoor trash container unless another arrangement has been approved in advance.
Client(s) should make the outdoor trash container reasonably available and identify its location when service is established.
If the outdoor trash container is unavailable, full, blocked, or unsafe to access, Yard Dogs GI may place the sealed bag beside the outdoor trash container unless the client has approved another staging location.
Yard Dogs GI does not routinely remove bagged waste from the property.
Any request for waste removal from the property must be discussed and approved in advance and may be priced separately.
Sanitation Practices
Yard Dogs GI will use reasonable sanitation practices for tools and equipment used during animal-waste-removal service.
Tools and equipment will be cleaned as reasonably needed between properties to reduce the transfer of waste from one property to another.
When appropriate, Yard Dogs GI may use disinfecting products on tools and equipment used during service.
Yard Dogs GI will also take reasonable steps to avoid tracking waste onto patios, driveways, sidewalks, or other surfaces.
These sanitation practices are intended to reduce the transfer of waste and debris. They do not create or guarantee sterile conditions.
Unsafe or Unusual Conditions
Yard Dogs GI may limit, postpone, or decline service when condition(s) create a safety concern or prevent the work from being completed reasonably.
Examples may include:
- Loose, aggressive, territorial, reactive, or unpredictable animals.
- Broken gates, damaged fences, or unsafe access points.
- Large holes, unstable ground, standing water, flooding, snow, or ice.
- Sharp objects, broken glass, chemicals, pesticides, or other hazardous materials.
- Insects, wildlife, infestations, or other conditions that create a safety concern.
- Overgrown grass, weeds, or other vegetation that make locating or gathering waste difficult.
- Conditions that are substantially different from what was disclosed when service was established.
Depending on the circumstances, Yard Dogs GI may:
- Limit service to safe area(s).
- Postpone or decline service until the condition(s) have been corrected or the condition(s) improve.
- Require additional information or instructions before returning.
Repeated unsafe or unusual conditions may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and could result in termination of service.
Billing and Payment
Routine recurring services will be invoiced monthly after the applicable billing period has ended.
Invoices may include completed animal-waste-removal visits, lawn-mowing services, clippings-bagging services, approved additional visits, applicable bundle discounts, and other approved charges.
Client(s) are responsible for paying invoices by the due date shown on the invoice.
Past-due accounts may result in a pause of service.
Past-due accounts may also be subject to other lawful collection remedies as permitted by applicable law.
Yard Dogs GI may require a past-due account to be brought current, or an approved payment arrangement to be established, before recurring service resumes.
Photos, Video, and Service Documentation
Yard Dogs GI will take before-and-after photographs of the agreed-upon service area(s).
Yard Dogs GI may also record video while work is being completed.
Photographs or video recordings may be used to document completed work, access problems, unsafe conditions, unusual property conditions, incomplete service, or other service-related concerns.
Service documentation will generally be limited to the agreed-upon service area(s) and other areas reasonably necessary to document the work or a service-related issue.
Photographs or video recordings collected for service documentation may be retained as part of the client's service records.
Photographs or video recordings collected for service documentation will not be used for advertising or promotional purposes without separate permission from the client.
